17th November 2017 | 10am-12.30pm
On Friday 17 November 10am - 12.30pm ACE are delighted to be hosting a joint event with the Civil Service Policy Profession and Operational Delivery Profession on how to form ‘deliverable policy’.
This event follows the recent PAC recommendation that departments should be drawing on the expertise of their ALBs to develop policy, a point which was subsequently incorporated in Cabinet Office's Code of Good Practice for partnerships between departments and ALBs published in February 2017.
Opening the event will be Chris Wormald, Permanent Secretary at the Department of Health and Head of the Policy Profession and Shaun McNally, Chief Executive of Legal Aid Agency and Head of Operational Delivery Profession for Ministry of Justice . We will then lead to a range of interesting case studies in a workshop-style format with Q&A and discussion. Martin Jones will be sharing his insights moving from his previous role as Head of Sentencing Policy at the Ministry of Justice to his current role as CEO of the Parole Board. Secondly, Nick-Joicey, Director-General at DEFRA will also be reflecting on the policy implications of Brexit in his department and ALB engagement. Lastly we will be hearing from Lesley Titcomb, CEO of the Pensions Regulator.
Attendees will consist of individuals from across policy-making, ALBs and wider operational delivery and in a workshop -format there will be the opportunity to learn from each other's experiences.
This event will take place at the Institute for Government, 2 Carlton Gardens, London, SW1Y 5AA. To register, please email email@example.com
